MASUKU. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Development of Masuku’s powerful filtration performance mask began before COVID-19. Driven by supermodel Natalia Vondianova’s awareness of the environmental impact of disposable masks, research began to create an alternative, that not only had supreme filtration capabilities, but was fashion forward too.  Constructed using 100% bio based and biodegradable materials (filter) and re-usable recycled and re-recyclable technical spacer knit (exterior). Focus was on optimising both breathability and filtration level, using a multi-layered design for comfort.

Role: creation of initial concept design, research and development, material sourcing, client liaison, concept presentation to globally renowned institutions for line extension partnerships.
